SDS Time Conduit for Mac

SDS Time Conduit is a conduit for the Palm program SDS Time. The conduit creates text files on the desktop computer with time data from SDS Time.

Installing

Double click the installation package "SDS Time Conduit.pkg".

Configuration

After the conduit has been installed you probably want to configurate the behavior of the conduit. Start the HotSync Manager or PalmDesktop and select "Conduit Settings...". Double click SDS Time to open the SDS Time Conduit settings dialog.

Make sure "Handheld overwrites desktop" is selected. Click "Options" to open the SDS Time Conduit options dialog.

In the options dialog you select what files the conduit shall generate and the file contents.

"Single file" creates one single file with all time data. "Month files" creates a separate file for each month and "Week files" creates a separate file for each week.

Select the field separator "Comma" or "Semicolon" to create files for import to Excel. Select "Spaces" or "Tab" for plain text files.

The created files are created in the folder "SDS Time" in your Palm user folder. For example: my time files files are located in the folder: "/Users/ulfs/Documents/Palm/Users/Ulf/SDS Time"

If you selected the field separator comma or semicolon the files are CSV files with the file extension csv. Otherwise the files have the extension txt.

Import in Excel

The CSV files are easy to import into an Excel sheet. Simply double click the CSV file.

Make a pivot table in Excel

It is also easy to create a pivot table in Excel. Select any cell in the imported table an select "PivotTable Report...". Drag "Date" to the rows area, "Task" to the column area and "Hours" to the data area.
